Things I Can Do

Is a web-log devoted to passing on information. Information you can use to reduce your day-to-day energy consumption 1% at a time.

Yes, if you can reduce your energy consumption by 1%, you will make a difference.

1% of the average Joe’s annual energy costs is about $20 per year. Just think about what you could do with $20! Multiply that by 300-million Americans, and we begin to see what a big difference that 1% can make for our aggregate energy addiction! (yes, at least a billion dollars a year).

So, what really IS Things I Can Do?

Grammar aside, Things I Can Do provides fun to read articles that empower you, the reader, to do something about your energy consumption. It’s not as hard as it looks, and in a lot of cases, the layman looks in the wrong places to save energy.

The articles must adhere to the following strict, but friendly guidelines:

  1. The article must be funny.
  2. The article must be informative.
  3. The article must be applicable.

In depth;

  1. You catch more flies with honey, and this blog was started as an alternative to Al-Gore style preachings. (Love you, Al). People have the ability to vote with their wallets. Real change in regards to environmental thinking and policy will only take place when it is economically viable to do so.
  2. There has to be real content, not just a laugh, and it has to be something I didn’t already know.
  3. If I can’t do it, then neither can you (probably). Therefore, we aren’t going to cry about things we cannot change (much like an AA participant).
